After the court martial, John Carter now has an uncertain future.

"Will you accept Bronson as a nurse after this?"

"Yes, I can alter any records as needed."

Synopsis*

Commander John Carter; Executive Officer of the Patrol Cruiser Aztec was on shore leave with Crewman Bronson who attacks a beautiful spacer woman along with his fellow crew members.. Carter defends the woman only to find out that she is an Adapted woman and that she is known .

In the far future, human have colonized the galaxy. Many planets called for the adaptation of the body to meet the conditions of the planet and in some cases, mutations happened as the populace adapted to the new environs.

 I don't talk to trees ... honest. At least, I'd never admit to talking to them. But if I were the kind of girl who might find herself talking to an old oak tree on a chilly fall morning, asking why its leaves were falling off, and if that tree decided to answer me, this is the story the tree might have told me.

A student discovers the secret her teachers have been keeping from her. Enraged at being deceived, she decides to take things into her own hands and share the truth she's uncovered with other students before she's silenced by the faculty.

Chapter 1

In grade six I got the chicken pox, a bad case of the chicken pox.  I remember feeling lousy, and the horrible itching.  Then the hallucinations started.  The giant bipedal rat was the worst.  After that, my memories have a gap.

The silver Dodge Durango, pulled up the gravel road toward a grey house with blue edging. Flowers bloomed all around, the air was heavy with the scent of their blooms.

"Momma, Momma," shouted a raven-haired, little 5 year old girl.

  "That is good news for you, my little one," said her Father, .....
  "Yes, Father, I can go outside for the first time in many days," she replied," I love the North Wind"

Here and Gone

The sun was bright and overhead.  A woman walking along a path towards him was slowly coming into focus.  

The old man closed his eyes for a moment and rubbed them slowly.  As he opened them, he looked around, adjusting a blanket on his lap.  Benches, trees, stones and paths: this was a park.  Looking closer at the stone in front of him he recognized the markings on its smooth face.  Carved into the centre of the stone’s surface was a large oak tree with a wolf sleeping contently at its base.  The roots of the tree continued down, beneath the imagined ground, forming two boxes, one on the left and one on the right.  The left box had a name and two dates, the right, a name and one.  The left name was his wife’s; the right, his.  He realized where he was.  It was the afternoon and he was in a graveyard.  He was visiting his wife.

Ike and Roger are bums. By their modest standards very LUCKY bums- for they have stumbled upon a place to live---rent-free and relatively unharrassed---a stone's throw from the beach in beautiful south Orange County. Surely such a sweet deal can't last ........
