Larry Welch, who had written some short stories on Fictioneer, passed away on February 16, 2012.  I think his family want his stories to remain on Fictioneer as a memorial to him.  They have asked me to copy them for his daughter to keep in his memory.  Love, Starla Anne Lowry

When I was a little boy I wanted to be a writer. I have read a lot of books written by Jack London. Martin Iden was the the most favorite. In my dreams I was courageous explorer! This explorer suppose to write a big story about his life and adventures. I wanted to visit Alaska and North of Canada and feel all this atmosphere!

From the moment I read the synopsis on IMDB, I was intrigued. It was a premise that whilst not unheard of, it had enough differences to make me feel as if this was a new concept and although it's hard to give a review without giving some of the game away, I will only tell you as much about the plot as the trailer, so it won't ruin it for you.

I'm still working out the plot of Spirit Splinters, Part Six, so until I figure out what's going to happen next the new chapter will have to wait. Don't worry, though-- it may not be that long after all. Thanks for reading!

I have found a new word processor and am not having the problems I had before (or at least not at the present). I have added a new short chapter to "Pairie's Children, Back to the West".  I have been discourged because nothing was going right, but hopefully everything is straighten out now.

So I finally took the plunge to join. I have no idea how often I'll post, or what stories I'll put up as most of my writing is taken up by writing stories for the RPG I'm a part of.

Amanda finds some friends, Ken does an over the top halloween display and we see Kelly starting to understand what she's done.

I posted "Side Affects" this morning, and I wonder what I did wrong. It seems to only work in a very wide window, unlike anything I have ever posted. Is my story too long? Did I enter it incorrectly? I need to know before I post the next chapter. Help!!

The pastor in Chapter 2 of "Pairie's Children -- Return to the West" is based on an actual person in Birmingham, Alabama.  What is written about him is not considered extreme. He was a kind minister, always stopping on the street to pray with someone (has even stopped fights that way) and would actually give the clothes off his back to some needy person.

This is a short one but I wanted to let people know that I'm still working on the story. This feels like an interlude between major happenings to me. Let me know what you think. As always, comments and corrections appreciated.

I had to change chapter two of "Prairie's Children, Home in Alabama".  Ruth was converted to Christianity in the original "Prairie's Children", so she doesn't need to get saved twice. So, I do need to read my own stories.

I'd heard about this film for ages and due to my long legs and complete dislike of cinemas and their rip-off prices, I eagerly waited for it to come out on DVD.

It was truly worth the wait too.

I have noticed a few ads on the right side of the Fictioneer site about publishing our work.

Astronaut John Crichton (Ben Browder--Stargate SG1, A Kiss before Dying) piloting "Farscape 1" space vessel, is swallowed by a wormhole and hurled millions if not billions of light-years from home into deep space, right in the middle of an intergalactic battle, whereupon, he collides with an alien vessel.

I'd seen the trailers.

Ewan McGregor and George Clooney as they hit the only rock in a desert full of sand.

I thought the preview was hilarious, but was it just the favourite trick of many film makers as they show you the best bits in the trailers and the rest of the film is only there to stop those prize pieces from bashing into one another?

Isn't that what they did with 'The Breakup' with Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston? That was truly crappy.

Well, yes that was what they did in The Breakup, but not in this case.

The only film I know of that has Jackie Chan and Jet Li working together and this is brilliant.

After Buffy, Angel and Firefly, I had Josh Whedon on my list of top ten writers and then I saw an article with Eliza Dushku, who played Faith, one of the other slayers then turned up in Tru Calling. This time she'd basically twisted Josh's arm into writing something specifically for her and even stumped up money (presumably) to produce the show.
